Yoto Mini
I had no idea how much the yoto could do. Not only can your child listen to stories, music, podcasts…but there is a daily radio that has new content every day! You can also “make your own” cards, and the yoto app makes it easy to upload your own audio files. We have had the boys’ grandmoms record themselves reading stories, which our boys play over and over again! This little device is a great alternative to screens and our kids love to listen to their yoto in the morning at breakfast, in the car, and while doing puzzles/legos. We like the mini because they can easily carry it around, but we’ve heard people love the full size yoto as well!

The What Should Danny/Darla books are “Choose Your Own Adventure” books with multiple story lines and endings. They are engaging, interactive stories that empower kids to make choices and see the consequences of their actions. Through relatable scenarios, these books help children develop a sense of responsibility while fostering critical thinking and decision-making skills. These books are perfect for teaching kids how to navigate real-life situations, and my boys love them! VTech Smartwatch
The VTech smartwatch is packed with fun features that keep kids entertained! They love searching for virtual monsters around the house and yard, and playing the interactive movement games. One of the coolest things is that two VTech watches can interact, so my kids love playing games and challenges together—it’s like having their own secret connection. It’s durable, easy for kids to use, and keeps them busy with tons of fun options!
Astronaut Electric Pencil Sharpener
When I first saw the price for this pencil sharpener, I thought I’d pass for something cheaper. BUT after reading about the features, I went ahead and got this and I’m so glad I did. Firstly — kids have a blast sharpening their pencils with this thing. It is actually more like a toy than a tool. We gifted it to them on Christmas, and they got all of their pencils out and took turns sticking them in and squealing with joy as they watched them get sharpened. Secondly — it has unique features that make it better than other sharpeners. You can adjust the pencil sharpness level with the gear on the front. It also has a pencil gripper which pulls the pencil down before sharpening, and then ejects it afterwards; so you can sharpen short pencils too! This is a unique and practical gift that your kids will love.
Micro Kickboard Mini Deluxe Scooter
The Micro Kickboard Mini Deluxe LED Scooter is perfect for 4-5-year-olds who love to play and explore. Its three-wheeled design provides stability, and the lean-to-steer system helps kids develop balance and coordination. My boys love the motion-activated LED wheels! The handlebar adjusts so that it grows with your child, and its nice and lightweight!
Guess in 10
This is another favorite game in our family! Players ask up to 10 yes-or-no questions to guess what’s on the game card, making it a great way to learn and practice critical thinking skills. While our boys love the animal and marvel packs, there are a ton to choose from to cater to the interests of your child!
Natural History Book
My 5-year-old and 8-year-old absolutely love National Geographic’s Natural History: The Ultimate Visual Guide. (My husband and I enjoy it just as much!) The jaw-dropping pictures capture the beauty of the world in such a captivating way, and I love how this book sparks our children’s curiosity about the amazing creation around them. Even though my 5 year old can’t read yet, he will sit and look through the pictures for an hour. It’s the perfect blend of stunning visuals and fascinating facts that engage the whole family!
Foil Fun
The Skillmatics Foil Fun Art & Craft Activity Book is a creative and engaging activity that my kids can’t get enough of! They say “it’s magic”! Each page is covered in shiny foil and features fun animal-themed designs that children can color and decorate. It’s such a fun, mess-free craft that keeps them entertained for hours while also helping them develop fine motor skills and creativity. A perfect gift for little crafters!
Osmo Starter Kit
Our kids love Osmo! You attach a little reflector to your tablet/iPad, and then your creations come to life on screen! A hands-on, interactive way to introduce preschoolers to early learning! This kit helps kids develop creativity, problem-solving, and early literacy skills. With fun activities like letter formation, dress-up games, and storytelling, it keeps little learners entertained while they build essential skills. A perfect gift for curious preschoolers & kindergarteners who love to learn through play!
Puzzles
Puzzles are great for any age — they are challenging, relaxing, and fun! I still remember the satisfaction of doing puzzles when I was little, and I really enjoy doing them with my kids. It’s one of our favorite “quiet time” activities.
These are some of our favorite puzzles, but the key to finding the perfect puzzle is matching it to your child’s interests. No matter what they’re into, the right puzzle helps build problem-solving skills, patience, and confidence—all while having a blast!
Ollyball
Kids can’t resist the fun of throwing, kicking, and bouncing a ball—but what if they could do it inside without breaking lamps, knocking over drinks, or denting walls? That’s exactly what the Ollyball is made for! This lightweight, shock-absorbing ball is designed for safe indoor play, so kids can get their energy out anytime, anywhere.
It’s not just fun to play with—it’s fun to customize, too! The Ollyball is covered in a colorable surface, and our whole family has had so much fun coloring in all of the pictures. Whether it’s a rainy day or a freezing winter afternoon, the Ollyball keeps kids active while keeping parents worry-free.
